Day 2 tests are taken within 48 hours of arrival from destinations with day 2 only requirements. Currently, green-listed countries’ arrivals are required to book this test in advanc. Fully vaccinated Amber-listed arrivals can also benefit from this type of COVID-19 testing and a no-quarantine situation.

Although new regulations are coming into effect from the 4th of October 2021. This type of surveillance enables the UK government to monitor the infection rates for the COVID virus in the UK for arrivals across borders.
